VIC-3D HS

The VIC-3D™ HS Vibration Analysis DIC System by Correlated Solutions, Inc. is a new addition to the VIC-3D™ product line of measurement solutions. This Turn-Key High-Speed Digital Image Correlation system can measure full-field, three-axes displacements during vibration events. Since the acquisition time is very short, the system is capable of measuring operational deflection shapes during transient events as well as the impulse response to an impact. The system achieves resolution in the nanometer range and provides full-field three-axis displacement as well as strain data.

Processing speed is particularly important for long image sequences, such as during high-speed measurements or cyclic loading. As the world-leader in Digital Image Correlation, Correlated Solutions has developed the most efficient algorithms and coding that is commercially available. Up to 85,000 data points/second can be processed using a modern consumer PC with a single Intel Quad-Core processor. This is at least 10 times faster than any other commercially available systems of which we are aware.

VIC-EDU

The VIC Educational System (VIC-EDU) is a low-cost solution developed for academic institutions to assist in teaching the digital image correlation technique to undergraduate and graduate students. The VIC-EDU system utilizes the same accurate DIC algorithms found in the powerful VIC-3D software, while allowing users to acquire data quickly and easily. The system features a simplified setup, streamlined image acquisition, and ideal post-processing features. The stereo cameras are mounted inside a protective enclosure, which includes an integrated LED light source, a cooling fan, and an exterior USB & power connectors. The system also includes a tripod, tripod head, speckle roller, ink pad, calibration target, and a convenient carrying case.

VIC-3D (Digital Image Correlation)

One of the most common configurations of the VIC-3D system is for quasi-static applications for measuring deformation and strain on specimens under ‘slow’ loading. Whether performing simple tensile tests, compression tests or applying large loads to structures, this system has the power to deliver accurate results with high spatial resolution. Because quasi-static applications do not require very fast acquisition rates, these systems benefit from utilizing ultra-high-resolution digital cameras for maximum spatial resolution. VIC-3D systems for quasi-static applications are offered in a wide range of resolution and frame rate combinations starting at 2.3 MP (140 Hz) and up to 45 MP (10 Hz) with many options in between.
